More than 180 people from all walks of life in France, including Mene Bertrand, executive director of the Association of Mayors of France, attended the "Chord-Tone and Elegant Charm" Chinese Folk concert held in Paris on the evening of June 25.
The concert was performed by French erhu player Elliott Toldo and the Chinese Orchestra of Paris. The performances include "Dance Music of Southern Xinjiang", "High Mountains and Flowing Water", "Silk Road Camel Bell", "Free Tango", and a number of Chinese and foreign music adapted from the theme song of the French film "Spring of the Cattle Class", "Look at Your Way".
The concert is part of the 2023 "Happy Chinese New Year" series organized by the China Cultural Center in Paris.
She Mingyuan, director of the China Culture Center Paris, said that since 2010, every time the Spring Festival is coming, the China Culture Center Paris will hold a series of "Happy Chinese New Year" activities, through performances, exhibitions, folk experience, lectures, film and television screening and other activities, so that the French people have a better understanding of the cultural connotation of traditional Chinese festivals.
Elliot Toldo learned to play the piano as a child and began to learn to play the erhu in his twenties. He has published and performed Erhu music he has adapted on Chinese Internet video platforms, including traditional Chinese repertoire, film and game music adaptations.
