The pendant is composed of six parts: the stem, the drum, the strings, the bow, the bass, and the headstock. The following will introduce the production process and materials of the six parts of the pendant.

The first thing to do is to choose wood, usually imported ebony and mahogany, and dry it until the moisture in the wood is less than 2%, and then bond and shape. The adhesive used for bonding, originally used is a big swim bladder (a glue made from a fish) or a water glue, and now basically a chemical glue is used.

Tube making
Originally, the piano barrel was made of miscellaneous wood, which was first made into a rectangle and then rolled into a cylinder. Now, it is rolled with a custom-made alloy copper plate with a copper content of 62%. The purpose of using alloy copper is mainly to make the pronunciation clear and crisp. There is an aftertaste. After being rolled into a cylindrical shape, it is welded and polished to form.

skin
The skin on the piano barrel was originally the skin of the python in the tropical rain forest. Now, the python skin is replaced by a high-quality paulownia board. However, this paulownia wood is preferably the sycamore tree grown in the sandy soil in Shandong. Before making, the paulownia wood is ground into a thin plate with a thickness of about 2 mm, soaked in warm water of about 40 degrees Celsius for 24 hours, and then taken out and pasted on the piano barrel with a special adhesive. The pasted piano barrel can be assembled with other components after 5 days.

hanging string tuning
Install screws on both ends of the piano bar (the head and the bottom end below), and place two strings between the screws at both ends. Originally, the silk strings were made by yourself, and the silk was made by a special process. Now There are two kinds of strings, silver strings and copper strings.

There are two strings, namely the substring and the old string, also called the outer string and the inner string. The substring is generally three-strand, crisp and bright, the old string is generally six-strand, rough and deep, and the piano bar is generally tuned in four degrees, generally divided into four. In the sound area, the tuning of "Duo, Fa" and "Tiao, Doo" are often used, but there are no obvious signs, and the tune is adjusted according to the tension of the strings and the fingering of the player. Originally, it was based on feeling to set the tone. Now, for the needs of performance and cooperation with other instruments, the tuner is used to set the tone, which is more accurate.

make a bow
Use high-quality solid-core bamboo (usually half-year-old Hsinchu) with a slightly longer bamboo knot, a diameter of about 1 cm, and a length of about 90 cm as the bow rod. Set up screws to automatically adjust the length of the bow hair (no screws can be directly bolted to it), and then install about 60 ponytails on the bow. The number of ponytails can also be determined according to the functional requirements of the pendant.

make piano
Originally, the same high-quality wood as the piano rod was used, holes were drilled on the piano rod, and the made piano handle was put in. Now the mechanical copper shaft is used, which can adjust the tension of the strings, making it more fine and beautiful. The original wooden handle adjusted the tune of the strings in a coarse tune, and now the advanced copper shaft can be used for fine tuning.

make headstock
The same wood as the piano rod is used to make the headstock of various styles, and the patterns can be changed at any time according to the requirements of customers. There are mainly traditional Chinese auspicious patterns such as dragon, phoenix, ruyi, horse head and fish.
