In the school's art major enrollment plan, design (general class): including visual communication design and environmental design majors, a total of 50 students, freshmen will be divided into majors after entering the school. Music performance: including vocal direction and instrumental direction, a total of 32 people. The vocal direction only recruits bel canto and ethnic singing students, a total of 12 students. For instrumental music, there are 20 students in total with piano, accordion, violin, viola, cello, erhu, pipa and guzheng.

Design majors recruit students from 9 provinces, including Gansu, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Anhui, Shandong, Henan, Hunan, Chongqing, and Sichuan. The music performance major recruits students from 7 provinces including Gansu, Hebei, Hunan, Inner Mongolia, Chongqing, Henan, and Shandong, and is divided into vocal music and instrumental music.

In 2022, Lanzhou University's art majors will continue to use the provincial (municipalities, autonomous regions) unified examination results. Candidates who participate in the provincial art majors unified examination can apply for and be admitted only if they meet the school's requirements. The college entrance examination cultural course score requirement is not less than 375 points. The minimum requirements for the provincial professional unified examination score (excluding additional points) for design: Anhui art design major score of no less than 330 points, Inner Mongolia art design major score of no less than 240 points, Chongqing art design major score of no less than 250 points The scores of other provinces and cities should not be lower than 260 points in the unified examination of art and design. Vocal direction: Only candidates for Bel Canto and National Singing are accepted. The score of Hebei, Henan and Anhui music unified examination is not less than 160 points, Zhejiang music unified examination score is not less than 80 points, Hunan, Chongqing, Guangdong, Shandong is not less than 240 points, Inner Mongolia is not less than 210 points, Gansu is not less than 250 points . Instrumental music direction: The type of instrumental music in the professional examination must exactly match the type of instrumental music corresponding to the admission major, otherwise the admission will not be accepted. Gansu, Hunan, Chongqing and Shandong should not be lower than 240 points, Hebei and Henan should not be lower than 160 points, and Inner Mongolia should not be lower than 210 points.

Students admitted to art majors are not allowed to transfer to non-art majors.
