March 26th. "Let folk music be rooted in the hearts of the next generation" is the original intention of Tan Jiaming, a young Taiwanese in Fujian, to continue to promote folk music into the campus.
When the reporter met Tan Jiaming as scheduled recently, he was in the guzheng classroom of Aoqian Primary School in Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, Fujian Province, earnestly instructing students to play "Chinese Music in Prosperity" and "State of Etiquette".
"Folk music art education is relatively weak in rural areas. I hope to start from Pingtan and spread such good practical experience to more villages in Fujian." With such expectations, Tan Jiaming and his team teachers every week It is necessary to go back and forth between Fuzhou and Pingtan four times, and walk into the primary school campuses of the two places to teach the guzheng, pipa, erhu and other national musical instruments.
Before engaging in the promotion of folk music, Tan Jiaming has been working in a large engineering company in Taiwan and participated in the design of the runway of Kuala Lumpur International Airport. In 2014, he came to the mainland from Taipei to start a business.
After "login", Tan Jiaming has designed a mobile phone that can be projected and built a house. In the end, Tan Jiaming, who has been influenced by art since childhood, chose to promote folk music in the mainland. "My father attached great importance to traditional culture, so I was influenced by folk music and calligraphy since I was a child, and I can learn all kinds of folk music."
"I was very worried when I first started. The team has no reputation at all. The principal of the school may not accept us." Tan Jiaming couldn't help but feel worried. What moved him was that the former principal of the primary school in Australia invited the team to the campus after learning about the incident.
"During the teaching process, the parents, school teachers and students met with support for folk music and kindness to Taiwan compatriots that are not found elsewhere." This left a deep impression on Tan Jiaming.
Since 2017, Tan Jiaming has continuously introduced Taiwan's outstanding musical talents to work in the mainland, and has tried to cooperate with primary and secondary schools in Pingtan to teach erhu, guzheng and other ethnic musical instruments voluntarily.
Over the years, the number of students Tan Jiaming's team has taught in Pingtan has increased from 30 to more than 1,300. After accumulating enough experience, he brought more than a dozen teachers to Fuzhou to promote traditional culture in a wider space.
At present, they have carried out public welfare cooperation with five schools including Shuanghong Primary School and Guanlan Primary School in Fuzhou, teaching folk music, calligraphy and dance to more than 500 children for a long time, and set up stations in Taijiang District, Cangshan District and Jinan District of Fuzhou City .
"In the future, we will consider going into more rural areas to help the left-behind children there." Tan Jiaming said that now they are bringing Taiwan's educational philosophy and entering schools to popularize folk music, holding "let folk music be rooted in the hearts of the next generation" "The idea persisted.
Since 2018, Tan Jiaming has invited Taiwanese teachers and students to visit the mainland every summer vacation. Affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, this exchange project has pressed the "pause button".
"Cross-strait cultural exchanges should start with children, and we must continue to create cross-strait youth folk music exchange and study activities." Tan Jiaming said that he hoped that more Taiwanese youths would see the vast stage of the mainland and choose to develop in the mainland.
At present, Fuzhou is accelerating the construction of a first home city for Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan enterprises to land in the first home. In Tan Jiaming's view, the mainland has introduced many favorable policies for Taiwanese youth to come to the mainland for development, which not only gives a runway, but also a chance to realize their dreams.
