Li Leping, the inheritor of the stringed instrument making family in Shanqiu Village, Menan Town, Xian County, Cangzhou City, Hebei Province, is making erhu. It is reported that after years of painstaking research, he has combined traditional craftsmanship with modern scientific and technological theory, and his purely handmade musical instruments are loved by performers and instrument enthusiasts of major national orchestras in China.
Stringing instruments refer to those instruments whose sound source is taut and vibrating strings, including erhu, jinghu, pipa, ruan, etc. In 2021, the manufacturing process of Chinese stringed musical instruments will be included in the Cangzhou Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritage List. In order to better inherit and develop the production skills of the "intangible cultural heritage", Li Leping has established his own musical instrument factory in the village, attracting many villagers to come to study and work. He not only makes the "old handicrafts" handed down by his family radiate new vitality, but also helps many villagers increase their income and become rich.
