Lv Haidong studied Xunyi Suona with his father at the age of 6. In 2011, he was admitted to the Department of Folk Music of Xi'an Conservatory of Music. He studied under Professor Gao Xiaopeng, a famous suona performer.

During his school days, Lv Haidong deeply realized that the inheritance of suona in Xunyi is facing huge challenges. Since the reform and opening up, under the impact of the diversification of modern civilization, traditional folk culture has been weakened, and suona has been replaced by drums, trumpets, etc. Instead of Western musical instruments, some senior suona artists have passed away one after another due to their advanced age. Many individual stunts are difficult to inherit, and the county has a shortage of funds for activities. Suona is difficult to become a way to support the family, so there are very few scholars, and the inheritance status is endangered. Under such circumstances, Lu Haidong gave up the superior working environment in Xi'an after graduation, and resolutely returned to his hometown to contribute his strength to the inheritance and development of Xunyi Suona.

In 2011, Lv Haidong and his family organized and re-created the local characteristic songs of Xunyi County, created a combination of large and small suona playing methods, and searched for it in many ways, and recorded the almost lost Xunyi suona songs "Xijing" and "Wang Liao". etc. album. In May 2016, Lv Haidong led Xunyi folk artists to hold the "Ancient Bin Love, Suona Rhythm" suona professional concert at Xi'an Conservatory of Music, bringing traditional Xunyi folk songs to the professional stage, which was greatly welcomed by teachers and students.

In 2016, Lv Haidong was invited three times to participate in the large-scale original cultural heritage variety show "Ding Long Dong Cho" on CCTV. Together with well-known singers Alan and Sa Dingding, they performed classic works such as "The Journey of the Knight", "Reincarnation" and "Nine Children". , and brought Xunyi Paper-cut, Huazimo and Malan Red Apple to CCTV, which won unanimous praise from teachers such as Li Guyi, Zhao Zhongxiang, and Cai Guoqing.
