Xu Zhengao is the only national-level senior guzheng technician of the Shanghai National Musical Instrument No.1 Factory. He has been engaged in the production of ethnic musical instruments since 1952, entered the Shanghai Ethnic Musical Instrument No. 1 Factory in 1958, and began to make guzheng in 1959, making great contributions to the "Dunhuang Brand" Guzheng.

The 694DQ is supervised by Mr. Xu Zhengao, known as "Zheng Father", and is one of the representative products of Dunhuang. This violin was designed and finalized by Mr. Xu Zhengao, the master of the Shanghai National Musical Instrument No. 1 Factory. Each violin body that leaves the factory is signed and stamped by Mr. Xu Zhengao in the belly of the zheng that meets the corresponding technical requirements, which is the iconic product of Dunhuang guzheng.

Since the 1970s, Mr. Xu Zhengao began to take apprentices, cultivated a large number of new talents in guzheng making, and taught more than 100 students. These students became the backbone of Shanghai Dunhuang guzheng production. Mr. Xu Zhengao still insisted on coming after retirement. In the workshop, we will guide the production of guzheng, and continue to carry forward the craftsmanship of Dunhuang guzheng.
