The original national opera "Hu'er Heyyo" tells the story of what happened in Shaanxi and Gansu more than 80 years ago. The simple and tragic story of the border area: Zhou Zhongyuan, a wounded instructor of the supply department of the Red Army, fought with the enemy to protect the Red Army supplies, and the people of Nanliang gave up their lives to protect the Red Army. In the end, the instructor covered the people and escorted the treasure map away safely, but unfortunately sacrificed himself. The whole play consists of the preface, five parts and the epilogue of "Severe Injury and Rescue", "Crossing the Dragon Pool Alone", "Deep Love Between the Army and the People", "Entrusting in Distress", and "Fearless Righteousness". , Brave, persevering, and fearless figurative characters, interpreting the Nanliang spirit of "facing the masses, sticking to beliefs, taking into account the overall situation, and seeking truth and pioneering" created in the revolutionary struggle of blood and fire.
As a red troupe born from the "Three Sides" caves, Gansu Opera House has been adhering to the creative concept of writing this red hot land for many years. The original national opera "Hu'er Heyo" is rooted in the hot land of the Shaanxi-Gansu revolutionary base. It sings the spirit of Nanliang and is a confident expression of Longdong culture. Li Tiansheng, the playwright of the play, introduced: "In Longdong folk songs, 'Hu'er Heyo' is the tone particle of every folk song, and it is also the unique horn sound on this red hot land. 'Hu'er Heyo' is both the title of the play, It also runs through the whole play with lyrics, showing the profound regional cultural background of Longdong."
It is worth mentioning that the music of the whole play is based on the folk songs of Longdong, and national musical instruments such as banhu, suona, pipa and big drum are added to the band, and the regional and national characteristics are ready to be revealed. In addition, using the staging technique of combining virtual and real, with the specific landforms and unique cave dwellings of the Longdong Loess Plateau, the audience is brought back to the distant era and the loess plateau.
Jiang Li, a producer of opera and musicals, is specially invited to be the director, the famous conductor Wang Yan is the baton, and Yang Zhuang, the vice chairman of Jilin Dramatists Association, is the composer.
