Recently, a pleasant sound of reeds came from the music classroom of the No. 1 Quanquan Primary School in Tongtong Dong Autonomous County. Under the leadership of the representative inheritor of the intangible cultural heritage, Mr. Shi Minmao, the students earnestly learned the reed playing skills of the Dong nationality.
Folk reed masters entered the classroom, allowing students to experience the charm of intangible cultural heritage from zero distance.
According to the introduction of the principal of No. 1 Quanquan Primary School in Dong Nationality Autonomous County, the school uses after-school service time to offer ethnic cultural courses such as Dong Lusheng and Dong Dingge. There are two 40-minute courses after class every week, and non-genetic inheritance is invited. Students can teach courses according to their interests and hobbies. After-school learning gave the children an in-depth understanding of the national culture, which further enhanced the cultural confidence of their successors.
The Dong Lusheng is a traditional folk musical instrument widely spread in the Tongan Dong Autonomous County of Hunan Province. It was developed from the ancient reed instrument and has a history of more than 2,000 years. In 2008, it was announced by the State Council as a list of representative projects of national intangible cultural heritage.
