There is ancient rhythm in Hejintang——Record the inheritance of the master Chen Huanjun

Music Saint Shikuang played "Yangchun" and "White Snow", attracting birds and reaching out to the gods; Boya Ziqi's "High Mountain" and "Flowing Water" search for bosom friends, which have been passed down for thousands of years, and are endlessly heard... The idioms such as , qin song and wine fu, sound the qin and rule, add to the romantic color of the guqin, and have a very high status in ancient Chinese culture.

Guqin, also known as qin, Yaoqin, jade qin, and lyre, is a traditional Chinese culture that pays attention to qin, chess, calligraphy and painting. In 2003, UNESCO announced the second batch of "Oral and Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity", and Guqin was among them.

Puyang, the hometown of Fuxi, the relic capital of Zhuanxu, the hometown of Cangjie, the birthplace of "the first dragon in China", is also the hometown of Chen Huanjun, a famous qin master. A gentleman works on the foundation, and the foundation is established and the Tao is born. Chen Huanjun adheres to the family tradition, loves the qin as his life, and regards qin making as his lifelong career. Experience and character are improving day by day, and gradually become famous in the industry, famous at home and abroad.

In today's prosperous age, all industries are prosperous, literature and art are prosperous, and the elegant guqin is more and more loved and welcomed. A guqin is not easy to come by, and it is inseparable from the countless polishing of the qin master. Chen Huanjun said, "The craftsmanship of qin is extremely complicated, including more than 300 processes, including material selection, modeling, grooved belly, ash scraping, polishing, varnishing, audition and winding, etc., all of which are done by hand. From material selection to finished product, it takes less time. Two or three years, four or five years at most.”

The Chen family has played the qin for generations, and Chen Huanjun strictly abides by the ancient design concept and the guqin regulations that have been adhered to for generations. In his opinion, the guqin is originally a design that advocates nature. The length of the guqin is three feet six inches and five minutes, which means that there are three hundred and sixty-five days in a year. The upper part of the "qin head" is the forehead, and the lower end of the forehead is inlaid with hardwood for stringing, which is called "Yueshan". There is also a piece of hardwood inlaid on the side of the "forehead" on the edge of Yueshan, which is "Chenglu". There are seven "string eyes" on the top and seven "qin treasures" on the bottom, which are used to tie the strings. On the side of the head of the qin, there are "phoenix eyes" and "huzhen", and the bottom of the waist is the "tail of the qin". The "Qin Tail" is inlaid with "Dragon Gums" engraved with shallow grooves, and the sides of the "Dragon Gums" are decorated with "Crown Angles", or "Joke Tail". There are two sound grooves at the bottom of the qin, the larger one is "Longchi" in the middle, and the smaller one is "Phoenix Marsh" at the end. There are two sound columns, "Tianzhu" and "Earth column". There are dragons and phoenixes. "Chenglu" starts from the seven strings, passes through Yueshan, Longgu, and turns to a pair of "geese feet" at the bottom of the qin, symbolizing the seven stars.

A good violin often penetrates people's hearts. Chen Huanjun's ingenious craftsmanship originates from the inheritance of hundreds of years.

During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, the great ancestor Chen Deyuan followed his master to make guqin in the capital. Because of his honesty, ingenuity, and excellent skills, he was very popular among people in the qin world. Later, Chen Deyuan set up his own business, and the famous literati in the capital named it "Hejintang", which has a profound meaning. Since then, the craftsmanship of Guqin has gradually become perfect, and it is widely sought after by enthusiasts.

Later, in order to support his parents, Chen Deyuan returned to his hometown and continued to open the "Hejintang" Qinfang in Zhengzhou. The second generation inheritor, Chen Shouzheng, was instructed by his father to learn the technique of qin.

The third-generation inheritor, Chen Xiushan, strictly adheres to the ancestral skills and has mastered more than 300 production processes. The sound of the guqin produced is crisp, smooth and smooth. The fourth-generation inheritor, Chen Aishu, is multi-talented, has superb skills in qin chops, and is also quite accomplished in the art of playing. The fifth-generation inheritor, Chen Huanjun, has learned the skill of qin plucking with his father since he was a child, and actively explored the difficult problems of qin plucking. He has systematically mastered more than 300 procedures of qin plucking in "Hejintang", breaking through the original bottleneck that cannot be surpassed, and the qinqin technology has become more perfect.

Guqin inherits the ancient and modern, and Jin Yang reputation. "Hejintang" Guqin workshop, with skilled craftsmanship, the styles are different from plain and colorful. There are more than 20 leaves, Lianzhu, Luoxia, etc. The sound is round, clear, vigorous and simple. The "Hejintang" guqin focuses on the selection of good materials, especially the old beams of hundreds or thousands of years. Or made of Chinese fir, with hard wood such as catalpa as the bottom plate, and some piano materials must be soaked in water, boiled, aired, and dried. After the wood billet is finished, brush the wood lacquer, dry it, apply coarse ash, medium ash, fine ash, and then knead ash. After many times of polishing and correction, apply the first coat of lacquer, and then six times of water sand. For grinding and finishing, Kaiqing has to apply varnish seven or eight times, and after finishing it again and again, it takes three years on average to make a piano.

There is no doubt that you are diligent and careful, you are rare among thousands of people. In modern times, the Central Plains suffered frequent wars and disasters, and the guqin cultural center gradually deviates. Most of them have been passed down in Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other places. There are very few guqin makers in the Central Plains, and the Chen clan people have been sticking to it no matter how hard life is.

In the 2017 National Guqin Production and Exchange Exhibition Conference, the "Hejintang" banana leaf Guqin produced by Chen Huanjun was awarded the "China Good Guqin" Bronze Award by the Guqin Professional Committee of the Chinese Civil Management Association and the Music Technology Department of the China Conservatory of Music. In recent years, Chen Huanjun has been invited to participate in the opening exhibition of "One Qin and One Song" in Henan, the National Concert of Zhongyuan Oilfield, the "Sanskrit Inheritance" Mid-Autumn Buddhist Concert in Daxiangguo Temple, the first Guqin Art and Culture Exhibition of "Guqin Culture Runs Weihui", Chinese Guqin New Year's Concert at Puyang Station, "Remembrance of Old People in Qingming Festival" concert, UN Chinese Day in Vienna, Austria, "Eagle City Ancient Charm" Pingdingshan First Guqin Art Festival, "Qin Run·Pu Shang" Guqin Concert, etc. Every time he participates in the exhibition, Chen Huanjun is always dressed in ancient costumes, sitting upright, full of awe.

Playing the guqin, the overtones are ethereal and clear, and the scattered tones are loose and deep. Chen's guqin has new people from generation to generation. Chen Huanjun's eldest son and daughter-in-law are all making qin, and the second son, Chen Yaoshun, is focused on playing. In recent years, Chen Yaoshun has participated in the Shanghai Guqin Exchange Conference, the China-Japan-Korea Folk Music Concert, the Chinese Guqin New Year's Concert, the 3rd "Yuanbai Cup" and won the Outstanding Performance Award, the Vienna "Chinese Day" performance, "Qin" Run Pu Shang" Guqin Concert, Central Conservatory of Music "Chinese Folk Music Inheritance Day" exchange performance, "Dragon Boat Festival Cloud Shang" concert, Tianjin Yaji Exchange, "Love Song of the Great River" premiere, "Music for China" special concert, etc. , rose to fame.

In the early 1980s, Wang Qi, a fellow from Qingfeng, returned to his hometown from Taiwan to settle down. Before liberation, he went to Taiwan to work and live with the army. He was engaged in the work of scriptwriting and accompaniment of Henan Opera. After returning home, he was arranged at the Qingfeng Cultural Center. One day, Wang Qi took a lot of trouble to find Chen Aishu and told him that during his stay in Taiwan, he had visited an old colonel who liked Henan Opera. As soon as he entered the house, the old colonel carefully took out a long box and opened it. The box is a guqin with the words "Hejintang" engraved on it. The old regiment leader said that when he was stationed in Zhengzhou, a good friend gave it to him, saying that it was a guqin made by your Puyang people. Wang Qi took this matter in his heart and wrote it in his diary. He was happy that Puyang had such a brand of guqin. Chen Aishu was very moved when he heard Wang Qi's words, and later warned his descendants to pass on the "Hejintang" brand, no matter how hard it was, he had to make a good guqin.

It was that experience and that story that made Chen Huanjun take the guqin more as his life, and regarded art as a genealogy. To live through the ages, not to violate the ancestral precepts, to live up to the ancestral virtues, to concentrate on the guqin, and to practice art with one's body. The ancient sound is still melodious, and the story of Hejintang is still being staged wonderfully.
