Dulcimer was introduced to my country from Persia (now Iran) by sea in the late Ming Dynasty. It was only spread in the coastal areas of Guangdong at first, and then gradually spread to Fujian, Zhejiang, Jianghuai and the Central Plains.
The qiang in Xinjiang was directly introduced into Kashgar, Xinjiang from the West Asia-Central Asia area via the "Silk Road", which should have been earlier than the end of the Ming Dynasty, and then spread to Hami, eastern Xinjiang at the end of the 18th century. Because Qiang is suitable for playing Uyghur classical music "Twelve Muqam" and accompanies folk songs and dances, it soon spread to the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains and major towns in Xinjiang.
