In order to further study and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the "Symphony of the Times - Invited Performance of National Excellent Orchestras", co sponsored by the Bureau of Literature and Art of the Central Propaganda Department, the Department of Arts of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Chinese Musicians Association, and the Propaganda Department of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, and organized by the Shanghai International Arts Festival Center of China, was held in Shanghai from November 19 to December 19.
This performance focuses on demonstrating the brilliant achievements made in the development of symphony and national orchestral music in China, promoting the prosperity and development of the music industry, promoting the construction of an international cultural metropolis, helping the construction of Shanghai's "performing arts world", strengthening the "wharf", activating the "source", bravely standing on the "tide", polishing the "Shanghai culture" brand, and improving the soft power of Shanghai.
During the one month performance, 11 national orchestras, including Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, National Theatre Orchestra, Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, China Symphony Orchestra, Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, Shanghai National Orchestra, Central National Orchestra, China Broadcasting National Orchestra, Suzhou National Orchestra, will perform 22 wonderful concerts, 11 of which will be performed in the core demonstration area of the performing arts world. The performance works include those from the "Symphony of the Times - China Symphony Creation Support Plan", and those newly created works commissioned by the orchestra since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which fully demonstrate the brilliant achievements made in the development of China's symphony and national orchestral music. It includes 41 excellent original works, including symphonic poem "Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains", symphonic divertimento "My Motherland", symphony "China 1921", "The Sea of Stars", national music epic "Hero", national orchestral music "Symphony of Elegance", etc. The original music works adhere to the creation orientation of taking people as the center, meet the diverse, multi-level and multifaceted spiritual and cultural needs of the people, and describe the new era New weather and new blueprint on the new journey.
Practicing the concept of "People's City", the exhibition will organize and carry out art lectures, band rehearsal open days and other cultural activities to benefit the people through the combination of online and offline, so that more citizens can get closer to music and art.
Among them, the Shanghai National Orchestra brought the original national music epic Hero. The work, based on fairy tales, uses national music to interpret the five myths and legends of Pan Gu, Ling Lun, Cang Jie, Da Yu controlling the flood and Hou Yi shooting the sun. The Shanghai Symphony Orchestra will bring the symphonic poem "Thousand Miles, Rivers and Mountains" created by the composer Zhao Lin. The work presents a musical picture with six distinctive movements, which is close by, far away from time and space, and rich in the humanistic philosophy of the Chinese nation. After its debut in Shanghai, the work has been performed 20 times nationwide by several orchestras. This exhibition will bring a more sophisticated and charming interpretation when it returns to the original place of the work and is directed by Zhang Lu.
Under the guidance of Jing Huan, the permanent conductor, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra will perform China 1921, a commissioned work by Li Haiying, a composer, to show the magnificent journey of a century and the enduring heart of a century. The Chinese Symphony Orchestra's "Dragon Voice and Chinese Charm" Symphony Concert will present songs such as "Song of Life" dedicated to the unsung heroes of the epidemic, "Sunrise at Dawn" to pay tribute to the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, and "Pudong Symphony" excerpt "Meet" to show the reform, innovation and development of Pudong. The original folk music concert "China Festival" created by the Central Ethnic Orchestra takes the time nodes of the Chinese "Lunar New Year" as the axis, and selects representative Chinese traditional festivals such as the Spring Festival, the Lantern Festival, the Tomb Sweeping Festival, the Dragon Boat Festival, the Qixi Festival, the Mid Autumn Festival, the Double Ninth Festival, the Winter Solstice, and the Laba Festival to explain the connotation of the festival with Chinese traditional music. On the stage of the concert "Renyin Tiger Roaring", the close dialogue between inheritance and innovation, the collision spark between tradition and modernity.
