On traditional national festivals such as the Spring Festival or jumping slopes, wedding celebrations, folk entertainment and other occasions, the Miao people will play long music to add to the fun. It also often forms a wind and percussion ensemble with folk instruments such as suona, gongs, cymbals, and drums, which are called "Sala" by the Miao people, adding to its joyful atmosphere.
In Longlin folk, people often take a break between work or gather together after dinner in the evening. Some play for their own entertainment, while others sing Miao folk songs under the accompaniment of Changji.
In addition to the local folk tunes, the music played by the double pipe also has some special tunes, among which the more representative pieces are "Answering Tunes", "Wen Pai Tuning", "Thanks Tunes" and "Happy Tunes".
