Balangzikumu is a Tajik plucked stringed musical instrument. Popular in Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It has a long history and a large body.
Its shape is very similar to Rebup, but it is larger. It is said that it is the predecessor of Uyghur Dolangjewapu, and their shapes are obviously the same. It turned out that Dolangewapu was spread from the Pamirs to the Megaiti area. In the long old society, the feudal superstition has given a religious color to the Balangzi Kum. Whether it is festive, wedding songs and dances, or in daily entertainment, people cannot play the Balangz Kum, but only play the Balangz Kum. It can only be played when a mournful music called "Telken" or "Casuyi" is played at the funeral of the deceased. After the founding of New China, the Balangzi Kum was reformed, and the folk musicians of the Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County Cultural Troupe made the reformed Balangz Kum on the basis of the traditional Balangz Kum. The body is made of apricot wood, with a total length of 82 cm.
The resonance box is in the shape of a flat gourd. The two sides of the connection between the piano bar and the piano box are no longer decorated with eagle wings. The upper part of the piano box is connected to the piano bar that is narrow at the top and wide at the bottom, and the lower half is in the shape of a flat scoop. Shaped, the front is covered with yak or sheepskin, and the diameter of the face is 22 cm. The headstock is bent back in a semicircle, and nine T-shaped pegs are arranged on both sides (fourth on the left and five on the right). The stem is short and features a treble peg on the left side. A wooden bridge-shaped horse is set, and strings are set at the bottom of the piano. Zhang ten silk strings, the tuning is: d2, G, C, c, e, e, a, a, d1, d1, the outer string d1 is the main playing string, and the remaining nine are resonance strings. The reformed Balangzikum has been used in ensembles or accompaniment for folk songs and dances in Tajik national bands. With the continuous development of the Tajik national band, the reformed Balangzi Kumding will become a promising Chinese musical instrument.
