Naiyi, Uyghur, Uzbek, Tajik and other ethnic edge air-sounding instruments. Because it is made of wood, it is also called wooden flute, which is popular in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Naiyi has a long history. In the frescoes of the Kizil Grottoes in Baicheng, Xinjiang (excavated in the 2nd century AD), there are already images of playing Naiyi.
In the 1950s, the bamboo flute used by the Han people gradually spread to all parts of Xinjiang, and was loved by the Uyghur, Uzbek and Tajik people, and most commonly used bangdi. When playing, no flute membrane is used, and the membrane hole is completely closed, and the tone and sound are vivid.
