Bone flute is a kind of flute and the earliest musical instrument. Also known as eagle flute or eagle bone flute, there is such a story about the origin of the bone flute.
Once upon a time, there was a place with beautiful mountains and rivers, where the industrious Miao people lived. There is a young and sturdy young man named Zhu Lang in the stockade. He makes a living by weaving bamboo baskets. Because he deals with bamboo every day, and develops love over time, he feels that the green bamboo is spiritual, and the young man can blow out a bamboo leaf by hand. Sweet and melodious voice. Over time, his music moved a beautiful girl named Dimei. Whenever the boy blows the bamboo leaves, the girl will sing along. One day, the naughty girl pointed at the sections of bamboo and asked the young man, "Can you blow this pipe?" The smart young man thought about it, cut off a section of bamboo, drilled through the middle, and dug a few more on it. Small holes, the sound of blowing is better than that of bamboo leaves, and it can also blow out different tunes. The beautiful music blew into the girl's heart, and the young man gave it to the girl as a love thing. Because the young man's name is Zhulang, the girl Dimei emotionally calls this thing of love "Bamboo Flute".
This may be the earliest musical instrument, of course it is just a beautiful legend. However, in the 1980s, China really discovered a flute that was 8,000 to 9,000 years old - the "bone flute"! From 1986 to 1987, at the Neolithic site of Jiahu Village, Wuyang County, Henan Province (central China), 21 flutes made of bones were excavated. They were all made of crane ulna, and most of them had seven holes drilled. This is the earliest musical instrument ever discovered. This fact also proves that ancient Chinese music has developed to a very high level thousands of years ago.
