The ancient Chinese traditional musical instruments are like memories hidden in the genes of the Chinese people. Once awakened, they have the magical power of destroying the dead.
In recent years, whether it is the ancient charm in film and television dramas, or the new trend of national music, the strong return of traditional Chinese culture has given us more new understanding of traditional Chinese musical instruments.
To this day, there are still people who love traditional music, because they know that the "dopamine" secreted by instant gratification can only lead to temporary happiness, while those traditional music with profound heritage can soothe the listener's inner anxiety through melody. , which brings real joy.
How to lead the audience to touch the depths of traditional Chinese music and feel the rhythm of the thousand-year-old culture is always challenging, and this is what Zhang Weiliang, a master of folk music, has always insisted on.
Zhang Weiliang is a flute and xiao player and composer.
Born in Suzhou in 1957, learned flute at the age of 8. He was the first batch of students to enter the Central Conservatory of Music after the resumption of the college entrance examination in 1977, and he is also one of the important cultural symbols of Chinese flute and flute music in the international music scene.
As early as 1986, Zhang Weiliang recorded China's first CD "The World of Xiao", and adapted the ancient songs "Night on the Autumn River" and "Three Lanes of Plum Blossoms", which became classics and widely circulated. At the same time, he came into the sight of famous directors Zhang Yimou and Chen Kaige, and acted as a soloist in the movies "Judou", "Raise the Red Lantern" and "Farewell My Concubine". At the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, he also served as the composer and flute performance for the large-scale group performance "Nature".
For more than 50 years, Zhang Weiliang has always interpreted and reshaped the image of traditional music with his pure music. He constantly explores how tradition and modernity fit each other, and tries to express the charm of traditional music in a modern, diversified and international language. Therefore, his music can spread rapidly, allowing more and more people to touch Chinese culture. 's unique magic.
On May 15, 2022, the folk music master Zhang Weiliang, who has the reputation of "the master of flute and xiao", will return to his hometown Suzhou again to bring this "Flying Clouds and Flowing Water: Zhang Weiliang's Dixiao Xun Solo Concert Tour".
Different from his performance in Suzhou Bay last year, in this tour, Zhang Weiliang will lead the audience to return to the artistic conception of traditional Chinese aesthetics through music.
In this concert, in addition to the four traditional musical instruments - flute, xiao, xun and guqin, the piano will also be introduced. The combination of these five musical instruments forms the concept of "dialogue between the eastern and western qin and the flute and xiaoxun". Through the cross-border fusion of Eastern and Western musical instruments, it gives music more possibilities.
It is worth mentioning that Zhang Weiliang also re-arranged and arranged many classic works, so that the audience can feel the beauty of folk music to the greatest extent.
