How to tell the youth story of Chinese people well with national Musical Instruments? On November 8, the new large-scale concert performance of the 2022 Zijin Culture and Art Festival, the large-scale national symphony "Eternal Youth", was played in the concert hall of Jiangsu Grand Theater. With the unique artistic expression of ethnic orchestral music, it looked back on the footprints of the century-old struggle, eulized the beautiful youth, and showed the style of The Times when Chinese youth are striving to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

This concert was organized by the Chinese Orchestra of Jiangsu Performing Arts Group, and written by Dai Xiaoquan, a famous lyric writer, playwright and national first-class scriptwriter. Zhang Wei, the permanent conductor of the Chinese Orchestra of Jiangsu Performing Arts Group, and Wang Junkan, a young flute player, Sui Jinghong, a suona player and Ren Jie, a guzheng player, joined in the performance. It is the premiere performance of the project funded by Jiangsu Art Foundation 2022. A spirited national symphony, Light of May 4th, opened the show. The concert, organized by the Chinese Orchestra of Jiangsu Performing Arts Group, was divided into four chapters: "The rising Sun", "Youth is like fire", "Golden Age" and "New Era". From awakening to struggle and then to the torch generation, the song of youth was played. "New Youth" performed by bamboo flute, "Thoughts of Youth" played by suona, "One Hundred Years of Youth" played by guzheng, "Torch" played by erhu, and other programs integrate the new era, new look and new spirit to show the style of youth, allowing the audience to trace the heroic footsteps of revolutionary ancestors through folk music and highlight the national pride.

Look back at history with music. In a new song Kong Zhixuan "May 4th Light", the new democratic revolution began. The movement adopts sonata form, which shows the revolutionary spirit of the communist youth fighting for the country from many angles. Don't wallow in the dark, you should wake up in the dawn, the following "Awakening", published in 1924 "May Fourth Memorial Patriotic Song" from the core tone, using the form of voice and folk band to recreate, reflecting the patriotic youth in the national survival of patriotic feelings.

What is the new youth? Bamboo flute sounds, full of Chinese wind. The New Youth, played by Meng Xiaojie, a young dizi player, with a lively allegro, praises the hard work, optimism and spirit of the young people who have communist ideals in the new era and devote themselves to the construction of the motherland.

Young people have a long way to go. It was composed by Wang Xiaobing and it made a clever use of the Song Dynasty overtie down structure, overtie down the past and overtie down, with a heroic style described a magnificent historical picture, let the audience in the music to trace the heroic footprints of revolutionary ancestors, highlight the national pride.

Suona player Sui Jinghong suona solo showy skills, the contemporary youth self-confidence and free style together into a "youth Go with the wind" hymne, climax after climax; "One Hundred Years of Youth", played by guzheng player Ren Jie and composed by Su Xiao, uses the exquisite musical language of Jiangnan to compose the eternal and great changes, vicissitudes and prosperity, ancient and youth of the Chinese nation in the past one hundred years. When the Erhu player Gu Huaiyan played and Luo Maisuo composed "Firewood", rich sound changes, in the colorful harmony, interwoven polyphony layer by layer. The fully mobilized Erhu solo skills draw out the musical theme like a blueprint, as if we are passing on the legacy of our predecessors, connecting the past, present and future.

The performance ended successfully in the national orchestra overture, "A New Era." Out of the concert hall, the audience can still hear the rich band techniques and sound levels such as harmony, polyphony and rhythm. New era, new look and new spirit are integrated into the orchestra of folk music. The original aspiration remains unchanged, and the youth is eternal! It is worth mentioning that the concert lineup of "Eternal Youth" is also full of youth atmosphere, assembled a group of outstanding young composers, young soloists, young conductors and dynamic orchestra to perform together.
