Bamboo leaf flute, a single-reed gas-sounding instrument of the Dong nationality. In the Dong language, it is called dashing. It means a flute with bamboo leaves as a spring, so it is also referred to as a leaf flute.
The double-pipe bamboo flute is made by tying two single-pipe bamboo flutes side by side. Folks do not stick to specifications, and they are mostly made at will, so the lengths of the two tubes are slightly different. Over time, one flute body is slightly longer, and the other flute body is slightly shorter.
At present, the double-pipe bamboo-leaf flute is popular in Congjiang County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County and Rongshui Miao Autonomous County in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
