Tseng Ni's legend

Legend has it that a long, long time ago, there was a hard-working, kind and beautiful girl from a strong family named Yi Ying in Fengcheng. His mother was a slave girl from the Luo Tusi family. After the Tusi forced her mother to death, he forced Yiying to go to his house to pay off the debt.

During the spring ploughing season, the chieftain ordered her to plant seedlings of nine acres of fields every day. Yiying desperately plugged in, plugged in... Until the moon hung in the sky, she couldn't finish it. Yiying was so tired that she was about to collapse, and she shed tears of sadness. All this was seen by Yilun, the cowherd of Luo Tusi's family, who went to the field to help Yiying plant rice.

Their actions moved the sky, and the gods sent hundreds of birds and beasts to help, and the fields of Luo Tusi's family were planted overnight. Yi Ying and Yi Lun established a relationship through labor, and they fell in love.

This offends the son of Luo Tusi, who has long coveted Yi Ying. Luo Zi slandered Yilun for seducing his female slaves, and sent Yilun to Tianzhou (now Tianyang County in Baise), and asked Yilun to plant a plane tree every three steps from there, and keep planting it. Come to Fengcheng's hometown. After Yi Lun was sent away, Luo Tusi's son forced Yi Ying to marry him, and Yi Ying refused to surrender. She ran to Chuanlong Mountain every day, standing on a large bluestone overlooking the direction of Tianzhou, crying, looking, hoping that Yi Lun would plant the plane tree to his hometown as soon as possible.

Time is like running water, year after year, the big bluestone on Chuanlong Mountain was dripped into a sieve by Yiying's tears, but Yilun still did not come back. One day, the son of the toast came to force the marriage again. Yiying rushed into her small hut angrily and threw herself on the wooden pillow and cried bitterly (the Zhuang people like to use wood and bamboo as pillows). When she woke up crying, she found that her hair fell on the pillow. She grabbed it in pain and threw it hard, and the wooden pillow made a pleasant sound. It turned out that this was the sound of Yiying's hair when it was pulled on the pillow. Inspired by this, Yiying twisted strands of hair into thin ropes and stretched them on the wooden pillow to make the first seven-stringed Zhuang people's hair. Play the violin. Then she made a violin bow out of bamboo and her own hair. Since then, Yiying has replaced her tears and thoughts with the sound of the piano, playing and singing on the big bluestone of Chuanlong Mountain every day. She pulled and sang until her hair turned white and became an old man, and she failed to hope for her lover back.

In the end, she turned into a bird, flying non-stop every day, shouting "Yanggu! Yanggu", looking for her lover everywhere. Later, people called the bird that made this call the Yanggu bird, the large bluestone in Chuanlong Mountain as the teardrop stone, and the qin made by Yiying as the Tsengni. Since then, Tsengni has been widely circulated in the area of Duyang Mountain, where the Zhuang people live in the northwest of Guangxi.
