A few days ago, the teachers and students of Wuhan Conservatory of Music held a special concert of Chinese works "Welcome to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, Weiwei Jianghan Pass" at the Chime Bell Concert Hall.
The chamber music work "The Towering Jianghan Pass" is a project funded by the National Art Fund in 2022. The work was created by Wuyin alumni Zou Hang (composer) and Wuyin teacher Jin Di. On the evening of the performance, Professor Tan Jun, Director of the Chinese Music Department of Wuhan Conservatory of Music, conducted the baton (special invitation) and led teachers such as Jin Di (piano), Xie Wenji (bamboo flute), Long Wen (percussion), and Wang Yuan (erhu). And the students of Geng Sen, Zhao Jingxian, Wang Cuishi, Lu Yiwei, Zha Qingyang and the Youth Chime Orchestra performed together. The work uses the piano as the main instrument, and is deeply integrated with percussion instruments such as chimes and Wuhan gongs, as well as national musical instruments such as flute, erhu, yangqin, and sheng.
