Awutong body is made of clay and mud, and some are roasted into pottery. The shapes are mainly diamond-shaped and crescent-shaped. In addition, there are many kinds of human head shape, strange human head shape, bull head shape and frog shape.
When making a diamond-shaped awu, first press the slime on the knee to form two semi-circular concave pieces with uniform thickness, then put the two pieces together, and squeeze the edges together so that they cannot leak and become one. Hollow diamond-shaped mud tires, after drying in the shade, open a blow hole with a length of 0.8 cm and a width of 0.6 cm in the middle of the upper part, and open a circular sound hole with a diameter of 0.3 cm on the left and right sides of the middle of the front belly. The holes are the same distance from the two sound holes.
Awu is produced in different specifications and sizes. The diamond-shaped Awu is 8 cm to 12 cm long, 4 cm to 4.5 cm wide, and 3 cm to 3.5 cm thick. The crescent-shaped Awu is 19 cm long and 4.5 cm wide, the upper mouthpiece is 2 cm long, and there are six sound-pressing holes with a diameter of 0.3 cm on the front belly.
