Bobo, a Naxi double-reed air-sounding instrument. Naxi is also known as feeding cloth, also known as reed pipe and Bili. Popular in Lijiang Naxi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province and its adjacent areas. Since the 1960s, Bob has been continuously reformed.
Yang Zenglie, a song and dance troupe from Lijiang, Yunnan Province, studied and mastered Bob's production technology, performance skills and performance style with the help of a famous Naxi folk old artist, the main composer of "Baisha Fine Music" and Xi Dian. Cooperation, first of all, Bob's sound hole was changed to eight holes (the first seven and the last one), so that the sound range was expanded to e1-g2, reaching ten degrees. In 1980, Yang Zenglie played "Baisha Fine Music" and Yi folk instrumental music "On the Road to Visiting Relatives" in the National Ethnic Minority Arts Festival with Ba Kong Bobo, which achieved good results.
In 1981, Yang Zenglie added a sound hole on the front of the tube body on the basis of the eight-hole bobo, making a nine-hole (the first eight and one) bobo, so that the sound range was extended to eleven degrees, and the reed was controlled by the labial teeth. Pieces and breath, can play the F key a-e2 twelve degree range, and make different Bobbers in the key of bB, C, D, bA, etc., and use techniques such as single vomit and vibrato in the performance, which is significantly enriched. It captures the expressive power of bobs and can be used solo, ensemble or accompaniment. In the same year, it was used in the music of the Naxi opera "The Third Kingdom of Yulong" created by the Song and Dance Troupe in Lijiang, highlighting the characteristics of Naxi folk music. The solo pieces created include "Cottage Nocturne" and so on.
