Erhu can be described as a "spiritual" musical instrument. As long as you take good care of it, it will infect the owner and listeners with its pleasant tones. This requires erhu players, especially erhu lovers, to know how to use and maintain them. Let me talk about some of my superficial experiences.
First of all, the selected erhu "talent" must be better, but it does not mean that the more expensive the better (of course it can't be too inferior), here mainly means that the wood and python skin must be of a certain grade, especially the leather should be elastic, and the masking should be tight. The degree is just right (the new piano is slightly tighter), so that the internal and external strings are coordinated when played, the upper and lower bars are handy, and the sound quality and timbre are good. On this basis, if you play it often, you will usually be "unified with the piano" within a year and a half.
Of course, for those who have a high level of performance, it is understandable to buy a mid-to-high-end, more expensive erhu with good sound quality and tone. After all, you get what you get for every penny.
Erhu has begun to be gradually welcomed and loved by people because of its unique charm, such as "Erquan Reflecting the Moon", "Cold Spring Breeze", "Listening to Songs", "Flowing Waves" and "Autumn Moon in the Han Palace". It is advocated that the python skin is thicker and older, but I disagree, because if it is too thick and too old, the sound will be dull or even stiff, and it will not achieve the desired effect. The thickness of the python skin used by the experienced violin maker is similar to that of the ordinary erhu, but he only makes a fuss about the processing of the violin barrel (including the sound groove), and strives to make the pronunciation both sensitive and not floating. There are Erquan qin The vicissitudes of life have a touch of sweetness. When choosing and buying an Erquan qin, it is necessary to repeatedly play the upper and lower positions to make it run in the best state. It can be said that regular use is the best maintenance for Erhu (including Erquan Qin, etc.).
Furthermore, erhu sounds tend to be slightly altered by climate change. When it is sunny and hot, it is brighter and louder; when it is cloudy and cold, it is lighter and thinner; when it is windy and rainy, it is dull and stuffy. I advocate more pulls on sunny and hot days and windy and rainy days, because doing so can make the erhu undergo benign changes with the continuous vibration of the python skin, make the erhu sound perfect, and even adapt to climate changes, that is, no matter how the climate changes, the impact will also be affected. Not so big. In the process of use, do not get too wet or exposed to the sun; if the skin is a little damp, do not use a hair dryer to heat it, it will be fine when the weather is fine; if it is dry, do not use oil or water, it will ease after some time, if it still does not work, then He sighed at the python skin. Different bridges have different volumes, and the tone can also be adjusted. To learn to debug, good at maintenance. Proper maintenance can prolong the life of the erhu.
In addition, there are the following practices for erhu lovers to refer to:
1. Paste two layers of non-porous pain reliever cream (the cheapest one) on the tortoiseshell to protect the tortoiseshell and part of the piano tube and reduce the sound of the bow hitting the piano tube; if it is worn out, replace it with a new one.
2. After each performance, it is best to wipe the rosin dust with a soft brush; the rosin dirt that is difficult to wipe off can be wiped with walnut kernels or wiped with double-sided tape (with viscosity facing outward), and then wiped with a soft cloth Wipe repeatedly.
3. When the erhu is not in use temporarily, you can rub rosin on the bow hair, so that the bow hair can prevent moths.
4. If something needs to be put on hold for a long time, you have to prepare a soft cloth, drop one or two drops of balsamic essence on it (not too much), put it in the piano box and put one end of the piano tube, which can effectively prevent python skin. Infested.
5. When necessary, you can open the piano box to bask in the sun (remove the erhu, because the erhu cannot be exposed to the sun), and then put the erhu in when it is cool, which can also kill the mold in the piano box.
6. Go with the flow, do not take it from the natural environment to the air-conditioned room at once, or from the air-conditioned room to the natural environment to play, otherwise, thermal expansion and contraction will easily cause problems with the erhu; if the temperature difference is not large, Let alone.
7. No matter which string is broken, the inner and outer strings should be replaced at the same time, and they must be of the same brand. Even if it is not broken, it should be replaced with a new one after using it for half a year (one year or more when it is not used often). The stubborn rosin dirt that sticks to the strings will have a slight impact on the tone. You can use the fingernails of your thumb and index finger to clamp the strings and scrape them up and down; often wipe back and forth on the hair on the side of the left ear (don't be afraid of getting dirty, rosin is right Hair is good), which not only removes the rosin dust from the strings to make the pressing smooth, but also prevents the strings from rusting.
8. If the bow hair slips when playing, you have to apply rosin in time (use a small knife to score several times horizontally and vertically), wipe it back and forth inside and out, and then wipe it evenly as a whole; apply rosin If it falls off after a while, it means that the bow hair is dirty. You can remove the bow to clean the bow hair with detergent. After drying, put on rosin and continue to use it; If it's gone, it's time for a new bow.
9. Generally, except for 2 or 3 months before the new piano, when the erhu is not used, the two strings should be loosened properly (not too loose, the internal and external strings should still maintain the relationship of fifths to facilitate the intonation), so that both Eliminate the "stress and fatigue" state of the strings, get a relaxed "rest", and avoid the slight bending of the piano bar, which is conducive to the recovery of "rest"; also, it is not necessary to move the piano code up, and install the piano guard to protect the piano Leather (not to collapse the piano skin) can be.
10. In order to make the erhu shine new, beeswax can be used to wipe the body of the piano, but it cannot be wiped on the python skin. Erhu has spirituality, if you take good care of it, it will repay you with all your heart.
