The drum body is slender, with a large head, a thin waist and a flared tail. It can be divided into three parts: drum chest (resonance cavity), drum waist (sound transmission channel) and drum foot (drum tail). The specifications and heights vary from place to place. Generally, the height is 160 cm to 180 cm, the highest is 200 cm, the diameter of the drum surface is 28 cm to 32 cm, and the largest is 38 cm.

The drum chest (head end) is a cup-shaped resonant body, about 60 cm long, and the lower part is arc-shaped and connected to the drum waist.

The drum waist is a hollow cylinder with a length of about 100 cm and a diameter of 15 cm at the thinnest point.
The drum feet are bell-shaped and painted with lotus patterns.
The body of the drum is mostly made of the hollowed-out core of the local Manmeng tree (ie, mango tree). The surface of the drum is covered with yellow cowhide. A small round rattan ring is set up, and the two rattan rings are tightened reciprocally with thin leather strips, and the tension of the drum head can be adjusted to control the sound level. If, before playing, a ring the size of a teacup mouth is made of steamed glutinous rice, and it is attached to the center of the drum surface, and inside the ring, the drum will make a heavy sound that can be heard for miles.

If the glutinous rice ring is not added, the drum sound is crisp, but not as far. In addition to accompaniment, drums are mostly used in men's dances. The Guangya body is painted with colorful patterns and patterns rich in national characteristics. The drum belts tied at both ends of the head and tail are made of delicate and exquisitely embroidered ethnic patterns. One side of the drum belt is either decorated with golden fringe, or woven into a net shape, and the net is decorated with various colored pom-poms. During the festival, the drum body is also put on a mesh "drum coat" decorated with colorful balls, and a bunch of peacock feathers are inserted at the tail.
