When playing the piano, the hand shape is not standard and difficult to correct, or it cannot be maintained after correction. This is a problem that almost all guzheng students have encountered. This is mainly because in the beginner stage, the good hand is not closed. Over time, the wrong playing posture has become a habitual movement, which is deeply ingrained. Even if it is successfully corrected in the future, it will inevitably be played in the future. Inadvertently relapse again, causing a major obstacle to continuing learning and improving performance skills in the future, so what should we do?

Guzheng hands practice skills: these wrong hands must be avoided

Avoid the following hand shape problems while practicing:

  1.  The problem of hand shape when playing the kite. When playing the kite, the palm of the hand is actually more deadly. The depression of the palm is often caused by the shape of the hand. Specifically, the palm joint is too low when playing. A depressed palm can result in a situation where your fingers cannot stand up when you play. So how to solve it? In such a situation, it is recommended to always use the index finger of the other hand, starting along the palm of your own, and supporting the metacarpal bone of the middle finger upward over time. The hand shape becomes normal.
  2. Pull the zither string with your fingers pointing to the hook. Hook is one of the very common fingerings in guzheng playing. The correct hooking, in addition to ensuring the angle of touch, should always be based on the string. It is very wrong to pull the strings like a hook. When pulling out the strings, one of the basic requirements is to relax, and while relaxing, it is necessary to ensure that a certain force is given to the strings, so as to achieve a better playing effect.
  3. When playing the kite, the hand is not stable enough. During the initial practice of guzheng for beginners, it is easy to see that the big finger and tiger's mouth are not wide enough, which will also affect the practice of guzheng. In addition to paying attention to this point, make sure that your big knuckles and small joints move when playing the kite. And don't deliberately pursue the frontal touch, make sure that your hand is stable to prevent swaying. The hand should be stable and relaxed, so as to facilitate the subsequent mastery of more skills.
  4. Ignore thumb training. In the process of learning guzheng, thumb training is also a must. The thumb itself is slightly inferior to other fingers in flexibility. If you find that the entire palm is stiff due to the movement of the thumb when practicing the piano, it is recommended to do more thumb training. The method of thumb training is also very simple: stand the four fingers on the edge of the table, the thumb is suspended alone, and perform the contraction movement of the thumb alone, which can relax the thumb and reduce stiffness.
  5. Habitually raised fingers. We have found that most beginners learn to play the zither with their fingers curled up when they don't need to play the strings. And this habit must be corrected. In addition to affecting the sensitivity of playing the piano, the raised fingers will also have a major fatal impact on the practice of more difficult songs in the future. Corresponding to another problem, when playing the piano, four or five fingers are curled up and retracted inward. This type of hand is not very relaxed, and will affect the speed of future playing.
