Summer is here, and the weather will get hotter and hotter. If you are careless with your guqin, it may crack.

Today I share 4 simple little methods to protect our guqin.

How to maintain Guqin in summer

1. First make sure your guqin is not exposed to direct sunlight

Guqin doesn't like to be in the sun, and it feels that its paint color is already healthy. Therefore, don't let your guqin be exposed to the sun for a long time. Long-term wind and sun exposure will accelerate the aging of the lacquer layer on the surface of the guqin, causing paint cracks, peeling, peeling and other phenomena.

2. Try to avoid the air conditioner blowing against the piano

The structure of the guqin has already considered the change of temperature difference when it is made, but the wood billet and the lacquer still do not like the severe temperature difference of the air conditioner. If you can't achieve a constant temperature environment, at least avoid the cold air blown directly against the air conditioner.

3. Humidity is very important

Guqin has certain requirements for humidity. We are very happy to hide at home and blow the air conditioner, but Guqin probably doesn’t think so. A more appropriate way is to increase the air humidity, or place it in a larger room.

Fourth, the best maintenance is to play the guqin

Ming Tulong commented on the qin: "The qin is an elegant music in the study room, and it cannot be unvoiced for a day." It can be seen that the qin is a musical instrument that cannot be idle. Many qin friends have this experience. The more the qin is played, the better. Therefore, the piano also has life. When the thick lacquer surface wraps the entire body of the piano, the ability of the body needs to be released. With the passage of time and the vibration of the piano body, the body of the piano will gradually loosen, and the lacquer surface will also slow down. Cracks appeared in the slow drying, its body was breathed, the sound of the piano was removed, and the piano became looser and more brittle.

Involving musical instruments

Guqin (pinyin: Gǔ Qín) is a traditional Chinese musical instrument with a history of at least 3,500 years. Guqin is also known as Yaoqin, Yuqin and Seven-stringed Qin.
