The deer flute is a musical instrument of the Oroqen, Ewenki, Daur and other ethnic groups. Also called deer whistle. The Oroqen language is called Wulian, and it is also called a deer. When playing the deer flute, the player often hides in the forest against the wind, standing and playing the flute with one hand. The corners of the mouth are slanted to the mouth, the deer flute is inhaled and the flute is blown, and the sound is sharp and clear, and the barrel tone is often f3-a3.
The deer flute is relatively labor-saving. Through the change of mouth shape and the control of breath, it can simulate the different calls of deer and scorpion in different seasons. It is often used when trapping deer and scorpions. Skilled musicians are often also well-rounded hunters.
