The long suona is a Korean double-reed air-sounding instrument. In ancient times, it was called Daping Xiao and Taiping Xiao. Also known as suona. It is popular in Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang and other provinces, especially in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture.
When playing the long suona, hold the tube upright, the ring finger, middle finger, and index finger of the left hand press the fifth, sixth, and eight holes, the thumb press the back hole, and the little finger, ring finger, middle finger, and index finger of the right hand press the bottom one to four holes.
The long suona is mostly C suona (with the pitch of the third hole), through flat blowing and super blowing, the sound range is g1-g3, reaching two octaves.
The long suona has a strong and bright tone, and is often used in folk song and dance accompaniments such as folk spring sowing ceremony ensembles, festive or holiday "Nong Music Dance".
