Children who have just started learning Guzheng and children who have already passed the tenth grade must have different ways of using the metronome. So, how should we divide the way children use the metronome at each stage?
(1) Allow students to have initial contact with and understand the metronome;
(2) Develop a good habit of practicing the piano by following the metronome;
(3) Initially establish a stable rhythm through the metronome.
The rhythm of the etudes in the primary stage is regular, all of which are whole notes or quarter notes. During practice, adjust the tempo of the metronome to: quarter notes, 50-60 tempo. It is very easy for students to follow the metronome to practice. Sing and play, and have a strong interest in learning.
The benefits of the metronome gradually appear in the teaching of the intermediate stage. Through the metronome training in the primary stage, students can grasp the rhythm and be relatively stable. On this basis, the following two aspects are required:
(1) For the practice of basic skills, gradually increase the playing intensity during practice, and gradually increase the playing speed through the metronome;
(2) For allegro passages or passages with regular rhythm in the music, the metronome is used for cyclic and gradual speed improvement exercises, so that students feel that they are making progress in each lesson, and the practice goals are more clear.
The metronome is more important in the teaching of advanced stage, and the focus of teaching is mainly reflected in:
(1) On the basis of stable strength, the Etude must meet certain speed requirements through the metronome, and the advanced repertoire can only be learned on the basis of passing the basic skills training, otherwise the playing foundation of the music cannot keep up;
(2) While completing the speed requirements for the music part, let the students play according to the metronome speed while improving the playing speed, so as to better express the rhythm, musical emotion and musical image in the music.
