"The Legend of Konghou City" originated from Gucheng Village, Hansi Town, Zhongmu County. When you understand the past and present life of Zhongmu's territory, you will feel that where the site of Konghou City is located, there is a large swamp lake in the north and a continuous stream in the south. The sand dunes are surrounded by luxuriant farmland on the east and west sides. It has a warm temperate continental climate with four distinct seasons, warm and humid.

According to legend, Huangdi, the ancestor of humanities, had a musician named Shiyan, and Huangdi asked him to make a musical instrument according to his own imagination. So Shi Yan traveled all over the famous mountains and rivers, and chose the ancient city, a treasure land of feng shui, where he chose various materials for demonstration, and finally made a nine-string harp like the Konghou. Shi Yan used this nine-stringed qin to play music. Shi Yan's wonderful qin sound not only affected the majority of Li people, but also affected the nobles of the imperial palace, as well as the immortals who passed by from here. Especially the gods who passed by here, when they heard the music played by Shi Yan, they all lingered, and when they heard the ecstasy, they even danced to the sound of the piano. It is precisely because of the sound of nature played by Shiyan with Konghou that many wonderful legends have been deduced in the long history.

According to legend, because Shi Yan played the Konghou music so beautifully, all the gods passing by here stopped to listen carefully. With the passage of time, the gods passing by here want to listen, and the gods who have nothing to do leisurely want to listen here, so they decided to build a city here and turn it into a paradise on earth.

So on a moonless night with no wind and no fire. These immortals started construction on the hot land of Konghou City while everyone was sleeping. They originally planned to "drum up" a beautiful city here until dawn.

However, things are unpredictable. It just so happened that there was a peasant woman in a neighboring village who wanted to go to the market to sell chickens. Because the road was far away, she got up in the middle of the night and went on her way.

The peasant woman was frightened. In order to strengthen her courage, she patted the chickens a few times, and the chickens began to croak. At first, one chicken croaked, and more and more chickens followed.

It doesn't matter what it is called, the gods thought that the sky was about to dawn, and the city that could be "drummed" overnight seemed to be unable to complete the task, so the gods hurriedly withdrew their troops in a panic. After dawn, there was only a high mound left in this field, which became the prototype of a city. In the words of modern people: Konghou City is a "half-la-zi" project left by the gods.

Konghou City is now called the ancient city. In fact, it is called "Drum City" in people's legends, which means that it is a city that is bulging from the ground.
