Lerong, also known as Songkanlerong, is a unique musical instrument of Jingpo people.
When playing, place the velvet obliquely on the chest, the method is the same as that of the bamboo shoots, but the breath is more difficult to control. Through weak blowing, flat blowing, and super blowing, the sound range is f-d3, the weak blowing tone is thick, the flat blowing tone is soft, and the super blowing tone is bright, and it is often used in solo. Young men of Jingpo ethnic group like to play when they are in love.
Most of the pieces played are Jingpo folk tunes, including "narrative song tune", "love song tune", "mountain song tune", "playing tune" and "lerong tune". Famous folk musicians include Mu Aila and Dashi Nuo.
