Double-pipe bamboo-leaf flute, a single-reed gas-sounding instrument of the Dong nationality, at night in Dong villages, young guys play the bamboo-leaf flute to entertain themselves, and the sound of the flute spreads far and wide.
When playing the double-pipe bamboo flute, the pipe body is placed vertically, the left middle finger and index finger press the first and second holes of the two pipes respectively, and the middle finger and index finger of the right hand press the third and fourth holes of the two pipes respectively. The mouth contains two reeds, which are played with a gentle airflow, and the two pipes are sounded at the same time. The sound of one tube is listed as: g1, a1, c2, d2, e2, and the pitch of the other tube is different, but it is almost the same, and the two tubes emit soft and harmonious sound.
Bamboo leaf flutes are mostly used for solo performances and do not participate in ensembles of other Dong nationality instruments. The sound is soft and beautiful. Players often play alone in the mountains or fields for self-entertainment. There is no fixed music card, and most folk songs or minor tunes are played, and sometimes they are played improvisationally.
