First of all, let's talk about the hand shape of the guzheng when playing. The playing hand shape of the guzheng is explained from five aspects, which can also be regarded as the five requirements for the hand shape when playing the guzheng.
1. Each joint of each of our fingers must be supported, so the first point is the support of each finger joint. To put it more bluntly, our joints should protrude rather than sink in, which is called joint support. When we do this, the hand shape will show a state of holding a circle. There are also teachers who ask our students to make a fist first, and then open it slightly on the basis of making a fist, just like holding an egg in the palm of the hand.
2. Require our wrists to be flat. What does it mean to be based on peace? That is to say, you are not allowed to have a particularly obvious action of raising the wrist, nor can you deliberately lower the wrist very seriously. It's still allowed if it just floats up and down slightly. Because our strings have a certain arc, when we play very high strings, our wrists may be slightly lower, and when we play low-pitched strings, our wrists may be slightly higher.
3. When we play the guzheng, the fingers are obviously arranged in sequence, even in the half-grip state, the fingers are in a straight line when viewed from the opposite side.
4. We take the middle finger as the central axis and align the forearm at the same time. The palms should not be twisted to the left or right, and keep the straight alignment in the most natural and relaxed state.
The third point and the fourth point are mutually restrictive. If the fingers are arranged in sequence, the gap between the fingers is relatively large, then the palm and the arm will not be on the same straight line. Therefore, if you achieve a standard hand shape, the palms, arms and body will show a little bit of inner character.
5. The wrist should be straight and not sideways. If we look at the back of the hand, it is straight up. It may not feel difficult when we explain it bit by bit, but there will be some small problems in actual operation. As long as we have such a standardized hand shape, we will gradually regulate ourselves.
