Guzheng is a wooden structure musical instrument, the surface and bottom plate are made of soft paulownia, so it is very sensitive to the influence of the external environment. A guzheng can be played for a lifetime if it is well cared for and passed down to future generations; if it is not cared for well, it will crack, come off (glue), warp (deformation), etc. in a very short period of time, resulting in scrap.
The maintenance of the guzheng mainly pays attention to two aspects: temperature and humidity. If the humidity is too high, the guzheng will be easily deformed. If the air is too dry, it will be easy to crack; if the temperature is too low, it will be easy to crack.
The room temperature can be kept at room temperature, and the piano is comfortable when people are comfortable. It is recommended to keep it at 16℃~28℃.
The humidity can be maintained at 30% to 60%. Friends in dry climates can keep pots of fish or flowers in the room, and families with conditions can buy a humidifier.
The piano room should be kept ventilated. In summer, the temperature is high, and the outdoor playing time should not exceed 2 hours; when the indoor temperature is high, please open the doors and windows at any time, do not expose to the sun or rain, and do not place the zither on the edge of the air conditioner for a long time. When the guzheng is not in use, cover the guzheng with a cover to prevent dust.
Generally speaking, a guzheng can adapt to the local climate after one year of local use. If there is no deformation or cracking, such a situation will not occur in the future.
