Guzheng, also known as Hanzheng and Qinzheng, is an ancient national musical instrument of the Han nationality.
Guqin, also known as Yaoqin, Yuqin and Seven-stringed Qin, is a traditional Chinese plucked stringed instrument. The historical record about Guqin "Historical Records" mentions that the appearance of the qin was not later than the period of Yao and Shun, and since the Han Dynasty, there have been documents recording the creators of the qin. For Fuxi and Shennong, it has been popular in the period of Confucius, and it has a history of more than 3,000 years.
Guzheng, in ancient times, was known as Qin Zheng, Yao Zheng, Yin Zheng, Yun Zheng, Su Zheng and so on. Regarding the origin of the zheng, there are many versions that can be verified by history. Among them, it is recorded in the "Le Dao Lei Ji" written by the court musician Gang Changming in the 17th century in the Yuanlu period in Japan. ) It was passed down with two women, the two women wanted to fight, and they were divided into two, so it was called "Qin Zheng". This version is currently recognized by the academic circles about the origin of the zheng. Taking the history of Qin Zheng as a reference, it has a history of more than 2,000 years.
Guqin has 7 strings, so it is also called lyre (the thickest is 1 string and the thinnest is 7 strings); Guzheng has 21 strings (the thickest is 21 strings and the thinnest is 1 string). Guqin is generally about 1.2 meters in length, while Guzheng is generally about 1.6 meters in length. In terms of appearance, Guqin is lighter and lighter. The names of the two parts are mostly quasi-physical, especially the Guqin has always maintained its ancient name, that is, the image is elegant. Some names of guzheng are more inclined to musical instruments.
Another big difference between Guqin and Guzheng is: Guqin does not have a piano code, while Guzheng has a piano code (or called zheng code, yards, and wild goose). The piano bridge plays the role of conducting sound. The bridge affects how the two play differently.
Guqin "has more tones and less tones", because there are only 7 strings, it belongs to one string with multiple notes, and the range of the sound range is 4 to 8 degrees. , so that the sound of the piano has an effect that is both restrained and full of tension;
Guzheng has 21 strings, with 1 to 2 notes per string. The pitch can be adjusted by moving the string code in the same string. It has a wide range, up to 4 octaves, with a higher volume. For HTC, the tone is sweet, mellow, gorgeous, and the artistic conception is long.
Placement: Guqin needs a professional piano table. When placing the zither, place the zither on the outside of the table (to facilitate tuning with the zither), and place non-slip pads at the head and goose feet (to prevent the zither from sliding during playing); stand
Playing: Guqin does not need to wear prosthetic armor for the left and right hands, the left hand presses the strings, and the right hand plays;
Guqin notation generally uses simple notation (or staff) + minus character notation, and Guzheng uses symbols to indicate fingering. The sheet music is very vivid and easy to understand.
The timbre between the two is very different, the guqin is quiet and simple, and the guzheng is gentle and clear, so there is a saying that "the guqin is pleasant to the heart, and the guzheng is pleasant to the ear". The difficulty of the primary repertoire of qin and zheng is basically the same, but at the intermediate level, the speed and strength of the fingers of zheng music are obviously higher, and the skills are more difficult to practice. Most of the middle and high-level piano pieces are more soothing and elegant. So generally speaking, the technique is more difficult to learn. In the pursuit of artistic conception, both qin and zheng need to work hard, and constantly improve their personal cultural and moral cultivation in the study.
Talking about qin and zheng, both qin and zheng are classical musical instruments that have been handed down in history and are deeply loved by the people. Today, the qin with a longer history is still very popular and loved by Parkson. Therefore, as mentioned above, no matter from the origin of history or from the universality in use today, the guqin has a longer history than the guzheng.
