Today, I would like to talk with you about the reasons why the intonation of the inner and outer strings of the erhu is difficult to tune, how we should solve the intonation of the inner and outer strings, and how to adjust it.
1. The situation when the inner and outer strings are originally low-pitched to high-pitched. When the outer strings are adjusted to the standard pitch, then the inner strings are adjusted to the standard pitch. At this time, it is found that the outer strings that have been adjusted to the standard pitch have become lower, and it is necessary to go back and adjust the outer strings to the standard pitch again. At this time, it was found that the inner string, which had been adjusted to the standard pitch, became lower again. . . It often takes a few back and forth to get the inner and outer strings into alignment.
2. The situation when the inner and outer strings were originally pitched to a lower pitch. When the outer strings are adjusted to the standard pitch, then the inner strings are adjusted to the standard pitch. At this time, it is found that the outer strings that have been adjusted to the standard pitch have become higher, and it is necessary to go back and adjust the outer strings to the standard pitch again. At this time, it was found that the inner string that had been adjusted to the standard pitch became higher again. . . It often takes a few back and forth to get the inner and outer strings into alignment.
There are two reasons for the above, often the first is more. The crux of these two reasons: it is the bending change of the piano bar after it is subjected to the tension of the strings.
There are two characteristics in the analysis of symptoms of intonation difficulty:
1. The original sound of the erhu is low and tuned from low to high. The situation is that the piano bar is gradually tightened by the strings, and the tension is gradually strengthened. After the force is applied, the piano bar gradually bends forward (bends down), so when the outer string is tightened gradually After adjusting to the standard pitch, the piano rod bends forward a little after being stressed; then adjust the inner string to the standard pitch, and the piano rod bends forward a little after being stressed, and then adjust to the outside of the standard pitch first. The strings are a little less tense (a little looser) and the pitch is a little lower. . . The bending change of the piano bar is changed by the adjustment and pulling force of the inner and outer strings, and the force change between the two strings is formed, which results in the phenomenon of tightness and looseness, and the phenomenon of quasi-low variation between the two strings.
2. Contrary to the above symptoms, the original erhu is tuned from high to low. The situation is that the piano bar is gradually loosened by the strings and the tension is gradually reduced. After the tension of the piano bar is reduced, it gradually straightens backwards (extends the waist), so when the outer strings are adjusted to the standard pitch, the piano bar is stretched back after being stressed. A little straight; then adjust the inner string to the standard pitch, and the piano bar will be stretched a little after being stressed. At this time, the tension of the outer string that was first adjusted to the standard pitch is a little bigger (a little tighter), and the sound The height went up a little. . . The bending change of the piano bar is changed by the adjustment and tension of the inner and outer strings, and the phenomenon of looseness and tightness between the two strings is formed, and the phenomenon of quasi-high variation between the two strings occurs.
When it is known that the reason why the two strings affect each other in tuning is the bending of the force of the piano bar, it is easy to adjust it.
1. Symptoms 1 Tuning method. When the original pitch of the inner and outer strings is low to high, the first adjusted strings are slightly higher than the standard pitch, commonly known as "tuned a little bit". Then adjust the back-tuned string to the standard pitch. At this time, the first adjusted string is subject to the increase of the rear tension. When the previous tension decreases, the string will relax a little and the tone will be lowered.
2. Symptoms 2 tuning methods. When the original pitch of the inner and outer strings is higher and lower, the first adjusted strings are slightly lower than the standard pitch, commonly known as "tune a little less". Then adjust the back-tuned string to the standard pitch. At this time, the first adjusted string will receive less tension from the back, and if the previous tension is increased, the string will be a little tighter and the tone will be raised a little bit.
The rod is bent and changed by the pulling force of the strings, which is restricted by the structure of the huqin.
Different woods have different bending properties: old material is stronger than new material, mahogany is stronger than red sandalwood, and red sandalwood is stronger than ebony;
Different structural shapes of the piano rods have different bending performance: the lower width and upper narrow sloping trapezoid are better than the upright and the same width;
Different production processes of the piano bar have different bending resistance: the prestressed type is better than the non-prestressed type, the strengthened treatment is better than the non-reinforced treatment and so on.
Therefore, each erhu piano bar is different, and the bending of the piano bar directly affects the beauty of the piano shape and the stability of the piano sound, so manufacturers and buyers should pay attention to it.
