The Dadilong is a single-reed gas-sounding instrument of the Buyi nationality. "Dadilong" is a transliteration of Buyi, "Dadi" is a suona, and "long" is a bamboo, and the Chinese translation is a small suona made of bamboo.
The Dadilong has a relatively simple structure, consisting of a tube body and a reed tube.
The tube body is made of bamboo, mostly made of purple bamboo or water bamboo, which is slightly thicker than a pencil, and the tube body is straight. Remove the bamboo joints at both ends and smooth the end. The length of the tube is about 25 cm, the outer diameter is 0.8 cm to 1 cm, and the inner diameter is 0.6 cm to 0.7 cm. There are eight (7 in the front and one in the back) circular sound holes on the body of the tube. The hole (seventh hole) corresponds to between the sixth and eighth holes on the front. Press the sound hole and use thick iron wire to burn it red and then scald it out.
The reed pipe is made of a slightly thinner water bamboo pipe, the two ends are transparent, 5 cm long, and the outer diameter is the same as the inner diameter of the pipe body. Insert into the top port on the tube body.
