Waist bell, consisting of belt, petticoat, cone bell, tie ring, etc.:
belt and petticoat
The belt is attached to the petticoat and is made of leather. The choice of material or pig, or cattle, or donkey skin can be. The waist bell contained in "Reordering the Manchu Sacrifice to God and Heaven" has a belt of 120cm long; a petticoat is 53cm long and 27cm wide, with a half circumference around the waist. The belt is sewn on the top of the petticoat and serves to tie the petticoat and the cone bell on the skirt to the waist. Its length depends on the shaman's waist, and is connected by a belt buckle (in the early days, it was probably directly buckled).
Cone Bells and Tethers
The bells on the waist bell are tapered, cylindrical, iron or copper. About 20cm long and 3cm in diameter, ranging from a dozen to dozens of pieces. There are 24 cone bells in Xu's waist bell in Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County, Liaoning Province, with a length of 17-21cm and a diameter of 2.5-2.8cm. There are 40 cone bells with a length of 19-21.5cm and a diameter of 2.6-3cm in Fucha's Tibetan waist bell in Ning'an County, Heilongjiang. The cone bell is directly worn on the petticoat with leather rope, and the tie ring is sewn on the upper part of the petticoat. The distance between the ring and the ring should be properly dense, otherwise it will affect the performance and pronunciation of the waist bell.
