When playing the piano, the hand shape is not standard and difficult to correct, or it cannot be maintained after correction. This is a problem that almost all guzheng students have encountered. This is mainly because in the beginner stage, the good hand is not closed. Over time, the wrong playing posture has become a habitual movement, which is deeply ingrained. Even if it is successfully corrected in the future, it will inevitably be played in the future. Inadvertently relapse again, causing a major obstacle to continuing learning and improving performance skills in the future, so what should we do?

The correct posture of playing the guzheng

To learn guzheng, you must first have the correct hand shape:

  1. On one palm, 14 small joints should be prominent and supported. The line formed by the root joint of the palm should be distinct, and the tiger's mouth should be supported to form a circle.
  2. The wrist is mainly flat, and can be slightly floated up and down, because the panel of the guzheng has an arc, and the state of the wrist should be adjusted according to the arc of the panel during the playing process.
  3. The fingers are clearly arranged in sequence, each in its own way, staggered.
  4. The midline, or midline, refers to: the middle finger, the back of the hand, and the forearm in a single line. During playing, the center line should be straight, and a slight floating is fine, but the amplitude should not be too large. Wherever it is bent, there will be tension.
  5. Keep your wrists upright, the backs of your hands upright, and don't lean sideways.
  6. Regarding hand shape, you must not practice the piano with problems, correct your problems in time, and correct the problems less and less, instead of being like a whack-a-mole. Focus on one problem at a time to solve. Sometimes the dumbest way is the most effective.
