On November 6, the Dongs Pipa Song Contest, a series of cultural and tourism activities for the 70th anniversary of the founding of Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County, was held in Yueya Dongzhai Scenic Area, the county seat. Nearly 300 Dongs Pipa singers from 32 participating teams from all over the county competed on the same stage, singing happily and passionately, demonstrating the colorful charm of intangible cultural heritage in Dongxiang.

The small pipa (pinyin: dòng zú xiǎo pí pa) of the Dong ethnic group is a plucked stringed musical instrument of the Dong ethnic group. It is called Bibala in the Dong language. It is popular in Rongjiang, Congjiang, Liping, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in Guizhou Province, Sanjiang and Rongshui in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Datong Dong Autonomous County in Hunan Province.
The pipa (pinyin: dòng zú zhōng pí pa) is a plucked musical instrument loved by the Dong people. It is often used to accompany Dong songs. Mainly popular in Guizhou, Guangxi and Hunan inhabited areas of Dong nationality.
The big pipa of the Dong nationality (pinyin: dòng zú dà pí pa) is the big pipa of the Dong nationality. It is popular in Rongjiang, Congjiang and Liping in Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture of Guizhou Province, Sanjiang and Rongshui in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Datong Dong Autonomous County in Hunan Province.
