Dongba, a double-reed gas-sounding instrument of the Jingpo people, has a long history. There is such a story in Jingpo cottages.
A long time ago, there was a farmer in Jingpo with no children or daughters. They took a little boy as their adopted son from someone else. But the farm family was very mean to their adopted son. Whenever the rice is about to be harvested, he always drives him to the fields early to shoot birds. The child stood alone by the field, shedding tears of grief. Once, he accidentally put a piece of rice straw in his mouth, and when he blew it, he made a sound. He thought it was very interesting, and he inserted the straw into a bamboo tube at will, and it made a better sound. The most primitive Dongba appeared like this. It has been passed down from generation to generation until today.
