Bamboo leaf flute, a single-reed gas-sounding instrument of the Dong nationality, is called Baben in Dong language, which means a flute with bamboo leaves as a spring, so it is also referred to as leaf flute.
Bamboo leaf flutes are made of bamboo, and most of them are made of bamboo without water saving or the thickness of chopsticks.
Generally, the length of the pipe is 20 cm to 26 cm, the inner diameter of the tail end is 0.8 cm, and the thick end of the bamboo pipe is used as the head. The gap is 0.5 cm to 0.8 cm long, and a small bamboo leaf is sandwiched in the gap as a reed. The tube body has four circular sound holes, which are 7.5 cm, 11.5 cm, 15.1 cm and 17.5 cm from the tube head.
