Bamboo shoots are the musical instruments of the Jingpo people. In Jingpo language, "Bi" is a general term for a wind instrument, and "bamboo" is a hat, which means a wind instrument wearing a bamboo hat.
The body of the bamboo shoot is made of bamboo, mostly made of bamboo with long bamboo knots.
The length of the tube is 40 cm to 60 cm, and the diameter of the upper end is about 2 cm. On the wall of the tube at a distance of 2 cm from the upper end of the front of the tube, a circular sound hole is opened, and the wall above the sound hole is trimmed into a slightly inclined slope. (The lumen cannot be exposed), and cut off the bamboo skin 5 cm long at the upper end of the tube head to make it have a certain taper. A small bamboo tube with a length of 5 cm is set on it as a cap, and the inner wall of the cap should be in line with the taper of the tube head, so that it cannot leak. The upper opening of the bamboo cap is the mouthpiece, and the inner wall and the inclined slope of the tube head are the air inlet channels. There are five (four in the front and one behind) or six (five and one in the front) circular sound holes under the tube body. Some bamboo shoots also have a circular tuning hole at the end of the tube to adjust the length of the tube.
