The 筚langbulang is a single-reed gas-sounding instrument of the Kemu people. "筚langbulang" is a phonetic translation of Kemu, meaning flute, which is a unique wind instrument of Kemu people.
Yulang Bulang is made of bamboo and is made of five to seven sections of bamboo tubes of different lengths and thicknesses. It is very similar to the Lilie of the Li nationality.
There are two kinds of specifications: long and short, the short one is called the "Rangbo collar", the "collar" in Kemu language is short, literally translated as a piccolo, and the tube is about 40 cm long; "Wan" in the wooden language means long, literally translated as a flute, with a length of 80 cm to 120 cm. The thinnest section of the bamboo tube at the top has a bamboo joint at the head. The tube wall near the joint is thinned and flattened, and a rectangular reed is carved with a knife. A copper reed can also be inlaid in this part. There are five circular sound holes on the tube. The lower end of the thickest bamboo tube at the end of the tube body is cut obliquely.
