The body of the deer flute was originally made of horns, and later it was made of wood, and now it is mostly made of birch into the shape of horns. There are many kinds of appearance styles, such as right angle, rectangle, trumpet and diamond, and the tube length also varies with different styles.

A curved-horn-shaped deer flute, the body is flat, slightly curved, the top is small and the bottom is large, both ends are transparent, in the shape of a horn, the pipe is 90 cm to 100 cm long, the first end is a mouthpiece, the outer diameter is 4 cm to 5 cm, and the inner diameter is 2 cm. ~3 cm, the end is a bell mouth, the outer diameter is 16 cm ~ 20 cm, and the inner diameter is 9 cm ~ 12 cm. There is a bottom plate in the mouth, and a sound outlet groove is opened in the middle of the plate surface. The groove is 8 cm long and 1.5 cm wide. The sides are serrated. The rectangular, diamond-shaped deer flute is 80 cm long. The rectangular tube is 70 cm long. The outer body of the deer flute is usually hooped with three to five metal rings, and the ends are tied with belts, which can be worn cross-body on the shoulders.
