Clan plucked stringed musical instruments. It is called Sanxian in Miao language. It is popular in the vast Miao areas at the junction of Yunnan, Guangxi and Guizhou provinces, such as De'e, Longlin Autonomous County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The pronunciation is crisp and bright. Often used for solo, ensemble and singing and dancing accompaniment, it is very popular among Miao youths. 

The traditional Miao Sanxian is mostly self-made by the folk, so the specifications and sizes are very inconsistent. The common piano body has a total length of 70 cm to 80 cm. It is composed of a resonance tube (qin tube), a headstock, a piano rod, a peg, a bridge and a string.

Piano
Cylindrical shape, mostly made of a piece of hard wood, commonly used in local people to make red toon or green pole wood, the length of the piano is 13.5 cm to 14 cm, the middle waist is slightly thicker, and the ends are slightly thinner. , the outer diameter of the tube mouth is 14 cm, the inner diameter is 12 cm, and the wall thickness of the tube is 1 cm. The front mouth of the tube is made of paulownia wood veneer with a thickness of 0.5 cm. There is no sound window, which is open, and there are square holes for inserting the piano rod on the top and bottom of the cylinder wall near the front end of the cylinder.

Headstock and stem
It is made of a relatively hard miscellaneous wood such as red toon wood, green bar wood or fire fruit wood, and its length is the same as the full length of the piano body. The headstock is 20 cm long, the upper part is flat and wide, slightly curved backward in a shovel shape, the front is engraved with geometrical ornaments or ethnic patterns, and the upper part is also curved forward; The groove is 9 cm long and 1.5 cm wide, and there are three pegs on both sides of the string groove (two on the left and one on the right).

peg
Most of them are made of fine-grained and hard wood, ironwood or sandalwood, in the shape of a cone, with a shaft length of 11 cm to 12 cm, a maximum diameter of 2.5 cm at the top of the shaft, and a straight petal pattern engraved on the surface of the shaft body.

Bamboo or wood, in the shape of a long bridge, placed in the center of the panel or membrane of the violin.

In addition to the engraving on the front of the head of the Miao nationality sanxian, there are also two circles of ethnic-style ring-shaped ornaments on the front and rear of the qin barrel, and some patterns are decorated around the barrel. Between the string groove and the tail post, there is a colorful silk strap.
