The banjo is a plucked musical instrument, a type of guqin. It has a long history and is relatively rare, the lyre is relatively extensive, and the banjo has national characteristics, with soft pronunciation, mellow tone and low volume. Can be used for solo or to accompany folk songs and folk dances.
The shape of the ancient banjo, divided into upper and lower parts, is composed of soundboard, string pin, string post, string and resonance box.
soundboard, pegs
It is mostly made of soft pine and fir wood. The board is 40 cm long, 12 cm wide and 2 cm thick. At 2 cm from both ends of the soundboard, five iron nails are nailed at one end as the string nails for tying the strings. 2 cm away
string post
Five iron or wooden sticks are used as strings to tie the strings, with a distance of 2 cm. Between the pegs and the string posts, there are five strings, and there are no pillars under the strings.
strings
In ancient times, the strings were mostly made of hemp silk; later they were gradually changed to silk strings or steel strings.
sound box
It is in the shape of a rectangular box, mostly made of wood with a harder texture. It is 32 cm long, 16 cm wide, and 12 cm high. Some tin buckets are also used instead. It is not a coincidence that the soundboard of the banjo and the sound box are separated from the sound box, but the shape of the musical instrument is similar to the structure of the qin, se and building unearthed from the tomb of Zenghou Yi in Suixian County, Hubei Province, my country 2400 years ago.
