Hulusi (also known as cucurbitxiao) is one of the unique musical instruments of ethnic minorities in Yunnan. It is mainly spread in the Dai area of western Yunnan, Yunnan Province, and is also popular among ethnic minorities such as the Blang and De'ang people. The appearance is simple, soft, elegant, simple and easy to learn, small and easy to carry and so on.
The traditional cucurbit silk is a reed musical instrument. Its structure consists of a gourd and two (or three) bamboo pipes. The upper end of the gourd is a mouthpiece, and the three bamboo pipes connected to the gourd are sound pipes. The longer bamboo pipe is the main sound pipe. There are six sound holes (press sound holes) on the front of the main sound pipe, one sound hole on the upper end of the back is the seventh sound hole, and one overtone hole (sound hole) and two piercing holes on the lower end. Rope hole. The top of the main sound tube is equipped with a metal slat, which is inserted into the gourd, and the end of the main sound tube is equipped with a soft stopper.
The structure of cucurbit silk is very special, mainly composed of three parts, namely natural gourd, bamboo tube and copper reed, so the three main components should be carefully screened in the selection. The appearance of cucurbit silk should be fine and beautiful, and then look at three components separately. The choice of air box gourd: choose mature gourds, yellow in color, thick and firm skin; immature gourds with thin skin, white color and easy damage.
The choice of bamboo pipe is very important, because it directly affects the sound quality. A good cucurbit silk should first of all have a fine and mature bamboo quality. Relatively speaking, it has a certain weight, and it is not appropriate if it is too light. The choice of the reed is particularly important. The quality of the reed should have certain technical standards, vibration frequency, fatigue resistance, etc. These indicators cannot be verified due to the limitations of the conditions. The sound of the tube coupling is good or bad.
1. Different tones
The key of cucurbit C is higher than the key of B flat. Hulusi is divided into soprano (collectibles), sub-treble, tenor, tenor and sub-bass. Some cucurbit flutes have a hole on the auxiliary pipe. This hole is for the little finger. When playing, let go of the little finger and the auxiliary pipe. will ring, making it a harmony.
2. Different playing styles
Because cucurbit C is relatively crisp and B-flat, it is generally used to play melodious and high-pitched tunes, while cucurbit B-flat is suitable for expressing prologue.
3. Instruments look different
The shape of the cucurbit C is relatively small, and the interval between the sound holes is also smaller than that of the B-flat. Therefore, beginners have relatively small hands, and generally use the cucurbit C to get started, while for older children and adults, generally use the falling Hulusi in B key to get started.
The volume is smaller than the B-flat key, and the C key is the second treble, suitable for beginners. Hulusi B-flat: The volume is larger than that of C, and the tone is lower than that of C. B-flat is a middle tone, which is also suitable for beginners.
