"Flick to the point" is a string touch concept, which is a must for good sound quality.
In terms of the pronunciation characteristics of the guzheng, each sound should have an optimal pronunciation point regardless of its strength or thickness. How deep or shallow this point should be when touching the string, how much or how small the force should be applied, and how fast or slow the speed of touching the string should be determined according to the needs of the sound. No matter how deep and continuous the sound is, it must accumulate power at the moment of pronunciation, so that the sound can be sent out as deeply and beneficially as possible, so that it has the best vibration and continuation.
And during the continuation of the sound we maintain our emotions, keep our hands steady, and keep our natural weight on the strings. We "keep" on the zither and that feeling is an absolute must. But there is only one thing we can't do, and that is to try to change the sound that has been made by applying force after the pronunciation is completed!
On the guzheng, we can only make the sound that we hope and pursue in an instant, and then the sound extension is good or bad, which has been decided at the time of pronunciation. So no matter how strong or weak the sound is, the articulation point of each note should feel good when touching the string. A deep voice should naturally play the strings "deep", and a decisive voice must be straightforward when it hits the strings.
